Influence factors of cutting force in milling

In CNC machining process, research on influence factors of cutting force in milling, the actual production process has a very big help. Because the major source of cutting force is in the process of cutting metal cutting elastic and plastic deformation and friction of tool workpiece and cutting tool. Therefore, all factors affecting deformation and friction will affect the cutting force.


1, factors influencing cutting force of workpiece materials


Higher the strength and hardness of workpiece material, produced during the cutting process, the greater the force. Cutting force of machining stainless steel, far greater than the 45th steel processing. Milling stainless steels, stainless steel cutter.


The strength of the material of the workpiece, with the same hardness, workpiece material plasticity, toughness more, cutting force increases. Plastic of the increase is due to the chip and rake face long contact increased friction increased, so increased cutting forces. 2, the cutting effect of milling cutting force


The three elements of cutting, v (velocity), f (feed), AP (the back knife) any factor in increasing the total cutting area will increase, thereby increasing the cutting force.

Back engagement increases 1 time when the cutting depth cutting width increased 1 time, cutting power increased 1 time.

When cutting the same cutting area using large amount of feed and a smaller back knife, cutting force is smaller.


When <50m/min cutting speed, because the effect of built-up speed low cutting force; when the maximum built-up, with the increase of cutting speed, and gradually reduce built-up cutting force gradually increases to a maximum.

When the cutting speed is >50m/min, at this stage no built-up, cutting speed the greater coefficient of friction and deformation coefficients are reduced, cutting force decreases.
